Nathan Margolis (Hartford CT) slant lid desk in the Philadelphia Chippendale style, c. 1917, original paper label on underside of drawer behind prospect door reads "This desk was made for Mr. Frank D. Glazier by Nathan Margolis, Hartford Conn. and was given to Mr. Philip A. Glazier, Sept. 25th, 1917", slant lid desk opens to reveal row of pigeon holes over serpentine short drawers with prospect door at center, prospect door flanked by split baluster columns, behind prospect door, a hidden drawer in valance and single short drawer below, base with four graduated long drawers, all with brass batwing pulls and escutcheons, case raised on four nicely carved ball and claw feet, wear consistent with age and use including minor scratches, one pieces of molding to base detached, sold as is, 40 1/2" h. x 34" w. x 20" d.
