Noel Rockmore (American, 1928-1995), 1962, oil on canvas depicting surrealistic study with multiple figures in vertical planes, male figure at center flanked by nude woman at left and two conversing figures under domed skyline at right, thickly applied paint in complimentary orange and blue, signed "Rockmore" and dated "May '62" UR, partially crossed out paper label from Harry Salpeter Gallery (NY) attached to left frame verso, overall craquelure, small isolated area of paint loss LL, not examined out of frame, ss: 30 5/8" h. x 25 1/4" w. [This painting was done after the artist's return to New York and before his "Preservation Hall" period depicting jazz musicians in New Orleans, LA between 1963 - 1965.]
