Pair late 19th C. blue and white porcelain Meissen figural mantelpiece decorations: "The Broken Eggs", depicting Cupid ducking under noblewoman's skirt while encircling her with floral garland, second Cupid helps seated serving maid recover broken eggs from basket at left, blue crossed sword mark and impression "F65, 51, 28" appears underside base, tip of second Cupid's bow chipped, several tiny flakes to front gilt edge of oval pedestal, 9 5/8" h.; and "The Broken Bridge", depicting noblewoman partially embraced by crouching gentleman, Cupid strewing blue roses on broken wooden plank underfoot in foreground, second Cupid tugging on woman's back skirts, blue crossed sword mark and impression "F63, 51, 92" appears underside base, several isolated areas of loss especially to vegetation at base, one detached flake included, 9 7/8" h., both with expected surface wear.
