Description:

Peter K. Boshco (d. ca. 1978) bench with tapered legs and seat made of African mahogany with holes from marine borers, underside of bench has inscriptions "Peter K. Boshco," "July 4, 1959," "Medford, MA," and "African Mahogany/ marine borers," 15" h. x 52" w. x 16 1/2" d.; surface wear and some scratches. Boshco attended the Ethical Culture School in New York City and met the original owners, the Fetz family, while he was there. Boscho was a prolific woodworker and also donated many of his pieces for public television fundraising auctions. He was most active during the 1960s and 1970s, making this bench an early work.
