Philip Alexius de Laszlo (Hungarian, 1869 - 1937), "Mrs. Chichester de Windt Crookshank (nee Mary "Maimie" Usher)," oil on canvas, 1924, inscribed LR "de Laszlo/1924", depicts half-length portrait of woman seated near fluted column, she wear an evening dress and stole, a long necklace and emerald bandeau, carved wooden frame, light impression of cross stretcher near shoulders of sitter, not examined out of frame, ss: 42 1/2" h. x 33" w. [Mary "Maimie" Murray Usher was born in 1884 and married Lieutenant Colonel Chichester de Windt Crookshank in 1910. She pursued volunteer work at St. John's Church in Edinburgh and helped turn her family home in East Lothian, Johnstounburn in to a hotel.
