POTTERY JUGS: Two early Southern pottery alkaline glazed jugs: smallest a late 19th/ 20th C., probably North Carolina, redware with ribbed sides and gray to black mottled alkaline glaze, some unglazed areas at base, single handle, unmarked, wear consistent with age and use, two old chips to base, sold as is, 9" h.; larger with script "Rosenbaum Brothers, Pure Wine & Liquors, 704 W. Market Street, Louisville, KY", attributed to John Bauer (American, 1852-1901) by Slotkin in 2007 (auction record), wear consistent with age and use, some firing imperfection and expected wear, 13 1/2" h.
