Rand McNally & Company terrestrial globe, 18 inch, 1919-1939, with horizon ring on cast iron tripod base with ball and claw feet; pencil written notes near Antarctica tracing Byrd's explorations in 1933 and 1934, cast iron base has RMN cartouches and balls in the feet appear to be globes; map of Europe reflects the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 but pre-WW2; surface grime, minor losses to border of the paper on the horizon, slight cracking at Equator, impact damage in small area of Antartica revealing plaster, globe sits loosely in base; overall approx. 32" h. x 23" diam.
