SAMPLERS, three early 19th C. pieces featuring cross stitch and other techniques: first green, brown, black thread on linen, four alphabetic rows, signed "Nancy Chosey, Aged 8 Years" along bottom, 4-line rhyming poem entitled "Advice" found in middle, fourth row with considerable thread loss, number "8" reworked, ss: 9 1/2" h. x 7 1/2" w.; second colored thread on linen, four alphabetic rows, signed "M. Wood" at bottom, alphabet has several charming mistakes and runs from "A" to "X", floral bouquet depicted in LL corner, several tears, as: 7 1/2" h. x 8 3/4" w.; and third light blue thread on linen, three alphabetic rows, no signature, as: 4 1/8" h. x 7 5/8" w., all with isolated discoloration, all framed behind glass, none examined out of frames.
