SILVER: Hester Bateman (English, 1708 - 1794) George III sterling marrow scoop spoon, 1778, conventional form with double-ended scoop, hallmarked verso with lion passant, Leopard's head crowned, "c" mark (London date letter for 1778), and "H B" in script (maker's mark for Hester Bateman, entered 1761), wear consistent with age and use, 8 7/8" l. (weight: 1.3 ozt.)
