SILVER: Hester Bateman (English, 1708 - 1794) George III sterling tea pot, 1788, navette form body with eight faceted sides and concave domed lid with carved pineapple finial dyed green, bright cut decoration throughout with floral swag motif and monogramed "R A" to central rondel, carved wooden handle, straight spout, hallmarked to base with lion passant, Leopard's head crowned, "n" mark (London date letter for 1788), George III mark, and "H B" in script (maker's mark for Hester Bateman, entered 1761), additional hallmarks to lid interior include the Hester Bateman mark and the sterling lion mark, wear consistent with age and use including small dent under spout, minor dents to outside rim, etc., 7" h. x 3 3/4" w. x 10 1/2" l. (weight including non-silver parts: 13.7 ozt.) [PROVENANCE: Purchased from Colonel C. H.
