Description:

Tan jacquard silk dress, mid-19th C., museum provenance, two pieces, bodice and skirt, both of woven figured silk with bright blue trim, details include: bodice with V-neck and long sleeves, bright blue lapels, cuff decoration and covered buttons, straight natural waistline, center front and hook eye closure with decoy buttons, lace trim with extra tacked to interior, boning in front, tacks to interior to attach skirt; skirt with small train, trim on front in five garlands of bright blue silk and lace, hem finished with cord, back left side opening, eyes on waistband to attach to the bodice, tiny cartridge pleats at back, 15" from armpit to armpit, 22" diam. waist, 43" from waist to front hem, all pieces with wear consistent with age and use, sold as found.
