TEXTILE: Jacquard-woven coverlet, wool and cotton, of rusty red and dark blue, blended to create an ombré effect, with white background (and reversed on other side), c. 1840s, the field design consists of vessels of flowers, with hummingbirds feeding on each side, border design of a stylized floral band, fringed on three sides; top edge is hemmed, seamed up the center, scattered areas of fringe loss; otherwise, excellent condition, 81" x 78".
