Three late 18th C. English silk on silk embroideries of women, c. 1790s: first depicting woman strumming lute under tree, considerable deterioration to mat, some paint flakes from mat caught in embroidery threads, ss: 7 1/4" h. x 5 1/4" w.; second depicting woman placing flowers on tombstone labeled "Werter", satin background, some darkening and discoloration, possible mold under glass, horizontal split on left side, ss: 7 1/2" h. x 5 7/8" w.; along with third depicting young shepherdess embracing lamb, some shattering and yellowing of silk background, ss: 7 5/8" h. x 5 1/2" w., all oval-shaped, with hand-painted details to faces, hair, and hands, all set behind black and gilt églomisé mats, all with surface and structural loss to frames, none examined out of frames.
