Three pieces of 19th C. salt-glazed stoneware: advertising jar stamped "Mrs. G.B. Miller Tobacconist, No. 110 Water St, New York" at shoulder, scattered glaze loss, 14 1/4" h.; 2-gallon jug with applied handle, cobalt stamped "J.S. Taft, & Co., Keene, NH" at shoulder, flat chip at neck, horizontal hairlines at handle, star crack near base, 13 3/4" h.; and unmarked 2-gallon jug, chipped base, two areas of hairlines near base. [From descendants of Henry Hammond Taylor, an antiques collector, furniture restorer, and author of "Knowing, Collecting and Restoring Early American Furniture" published in 1930.] [A similar Miller jar was sold for $258 at Crocker Farm, MD in 2015.]
