Three wooden signs: "Please Watch Your Hat and Coat", reproduction, stamped verso "Handscreened by George Nathan, Providence, RI", features a gentleman with muttonchops and spectacles, faux craquelure background, 28" h. x 11 1/2" w.; "E. M. Brown, Landscape Gardener, Forester", paint over tarred surface on slatted board, metal latches verso, scattered surface loss especially at top, 13 3/4" h. x 22 1/4" w.; and "Emergency Escape Hatch", hand-stenciled lettering in red with yellow lining, on wooden board, scattered paint drops throughout, checking, 8" h. x 18" w., all signs one sided and with varied wear that includes some loss of finish, scratches and wear to edges. [Provenance: Chuck's Steakhouse in Farmington, CT, a restaurant operating in an eighteenth-century barn located in the heart of historic Farmington Village, was decorated with a wide variety of antiques and decorative rustic objects.
