Hopi painted and hinged wooden headdress used in the butterfly dance, painted geometric design in brilliant colors including brick red, black, and yellow, stepped top, birds with outstretched wings carved in upper third portion of headdress, leather straps and rawhide ties, fitted for hanging, right hand bird missing wings, expected wear including paint loss and checking, 14 7/8" h.
