TRIBAL: Two Northwest Coast carved wood pieces, 20th C., including an Oyster Catcher bird form rattle, with animal face on back and and beak-nose mask on chest, talon feet, red and black paint, inset abalone eyes, end of handle signed "S. Karpes", likely Shawn Karpes, Namgis, British Columbia, 6" h. x 16" l.; along with a bird formline bentwood canoe box by Bruce Alfred, also Namgis, carved details on all four sides, red and black paint, 6" h. x 12" w.; wear consistent with age and use, expected surface wear, on both.
