Russian oils on board depicting Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin (Russian, 1870-1924): the first depicting Lenin orating from stage and surrounded by eager audience, unsigned, scattered loss including superficial scratches UR and CL and along left margin, minor paint loss UL corner, ss: 13" h. x 17 1/4" w.; and the second depicting aging Bolshevik leader facing Communist Party leader Josef Stalin (Georgian, 1878-1953) across luncheon table on outdoor terrace, indistinctly signed just outside of image on trompe l''oeil white painted mat LR, erroneously inscribed "Trotsky & Lenin, circa 1917" on paper backing verso, isolated paint loss to column behind Lenin''s head, Stalin''s left sleeve, and surrounding corner tack marks at mat, image size: 11 1/2" h. x 17 1/2" w., neither examined out of frames.
