Two Battersea/ Bilston enamel patch boxes, English, late 18th/ early 19th C., ovoid form, one with sailor and one with sheep, details include: first "The Friend of Humanity" titled on cover over hand-painted depiction of peg-legged sailor drinking with harbor in background, blue and gilt decoration to in-curved sides, interior with mirror to cover, wear consistent with age including silver loss to mirror, a few hairlines to interior, 1" h. x 1 7/8 w. x 1 1/4" l.; and second with hand-painted sheep reclining in brush, cobalt blue enamel ground, interior with mirror, wear consistent with age and use including silver loss to mirror, small loss and minor hairlines to interior, 7/8" h. x 1 7/8" w. x 1 1/4" l.
