Two early Italian engravings: After Giovanni Battista Cipriani (Italian, 1727-1785), "Comedy," 1788, depicts allegorical representation of Comedy with putti figures, areas of foxing and discoloration to image, toning to mat, artwork loose from mount, chipping and losses to frame, ss: 13 3/4" h. x 10 7/8" w.; and after Pompeo Girolamo Batoni (Italian, 1708-1787), "Venus qui Caresse L''Amour," depicting Venus and Cupid with birds, marks to paper especially in left and bottom margins, minor wrinkling to paper, minor losses at UR edge, expected surface wear to gilt frame, ss: 21" h. x 15" w., both framed behind glass, neither examined out of frames.
