Two early portraits featuring boxers: portrait of a man in suit with yellow necktie titled "Jem Belcher" verso, "Emily Lowe Gallery" label verso for the show "The Art of Boxing, Feb. 22nd- April 1st, 1978/ Jem Belcher", wear consistent with age including toning, foxing, etc., loose in frame, ss: 9 1/4" h. x 7 1/2" w.; and man in boxing stance with inscription lower left, possibly "Thomas Gibbs, July 8th, 1781", hand colored print, nicely matted and framed behind glass, wear consistent with age including toning and scattered discoloration, discoloration evident at hinge marks in upper third, scrape through arm, etc., ss: 13 1/2" h. x 9" w., both pieces sold as is.
