Description:

Two large Italian ceramic platters, 20th C., including: Italian majolica platter, oval form, yellow, blue and green floral and vine decoration on off-white ground with armorial decoration at center with castle, bird, and crown, signed "P. Rarino" on edge of border and "Positano (Italy)" on reverse, 25" x 18"; and a late 19th/ early 20th C. Large Italian Faience charger with two Roman soldiers and raring horse at center, cream colored border with cobalt blue scrolling floral vines and four medallions with trumpets, drums, armor, parchment, etc., signed "Molarorti, Pesaro, Italy" on reverse with "1448" impressed at left, pierced and wired foot for hanging, wear consistent with age and use including wear to finish to rim along with some roughness and 1" w. repair, sold as is, 19" diam. x 3 1/4" d.
