Two late 18th/ early 19th C. framed needleworks: larger a French embroidered pictorial sampler, c. 1800, worked in silk thread on linen, depicts vase with floral arrangement with French inscription "Souvenance (Memory)" embroidered beneath vase, wear consistent with age including fading and foxing, damages to frame, ss: 9 3/4" h. x 9" w.; and a smaller oval composition of young woman in classical dress in profile holding a cornucopia, appears to be watercolor and silk thread on silk ground, wear consistent with age including minor staining, ss: 9 1/4"h. x 7 1/2" w.
