Two works on paper with medieval themes: "The Miracle of Napoleone", 1934, gouache on paper with metallic accents, done in manner of early illuminated manuscripts where several narrative episodes are depicted left to right, culminating in St. Dominic's resuscitation of Napoleone Orsini after the child fell from his horse, ss: 5 7/8" h. x 11 7/8" w.; along with "In the Beginning", watercolor on paper, modern reimagining of stained glass window design with kneeling and robed figures as well as female head, tear extends evenly left to right across lower one-sixth of paper, glass cracked UL, ss: 10 1/2" h. x 7" w., both matted and framed behind glass, neither examined out of frame.
