Description:

Wharton Esherick (1887-1970), pair children's chairs with woven leather seats and backs, ca. 1924, Esherick designed and made the chairs for the Hessian Hills School in Croton-on-Hudson in lieu of tuition for his two daughters, 26 1/4" h. x 15 3/8" w. x 15" d.; seats damaged; two chairs from the same set are in the collection of the Wharton Esherick Museum with replaced leather.
