William Simpson English tall case clock, c. 1850-1875, from Cockermouth, England, case appears to be oak with mahogany or walnut highlights, 8 day time and strike movement, fusee spring driven, complete movement, original dial with four small repairs where movement attached to false plate, black numerals and hands original, dial plate with craquelure, veneer loss (mahogany banding) to both sides and front of base and in LL corner of trunk door, possibly missing center finial between broken pediment on hood, hood with elaborate spiral/rope decoration, short brass pendulum, overall wear, 74 1/2" h. x 19 1/4" w. x 8 1/2" d.
