Woldemar Neufeld (1909-2002), woodblock print, "Gunnery Hill in Snow," ed. 40/200, signed in pencil LR and monogrammed "N" in print, matted and framed under glass, ss: 12" h. x 7 1/2" w. [Born in Russia, Neufeld's family emigrated to Waterloo, Canada in 1924. He left Canada in 1935 to study at the Cleveland Institute of Art, and relocated again to New York in 1945 to become known as the "Artist Laureate of the East River." In 1949 he moved his family to New Milford, CT where he established a studio and art school. He became known for his landscapes of Litchfield County and the Housatonic River Valley. While known for his paintings, Neufeld was also a sculptor and printmaker.]; along with Eiichi Kotozuka (1906-1979) Japanese color woodblock print, maiko (geisha in training) in multi-color kimono, Uchida publisher's seal and artist's signature LL , matted, ss: 16" h x 11" w.
