Administrative Assistant – Full time

Winter Associates, a fine art and antiques auction and appraisal service, seeks a highly organized individual with excellent customer service skills to provide administrative support for our operation. Primary responsibilities include general administrative support, answering phones and greeting visitors, responding to client requests for information and assistance, inventory and appraisal data entry, and submission of materials on social media.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • At least two years administrative experience
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Paint, and social media applications
  • Ability to quickly learn specialized auction and appraisal computer programs
  • Experience with Photography programs and QuickBooks Pro
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and solve problems independently
  • Team player with great customer service skills and telephone skills
  • Available for once a month preview and auction on Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings
  • Some knowledge of fine art and antiques

Gallery Coordinator – Full time

Winter Associates, a fine art and antiques auction and appraisal service, seeks a highly-organized individual with arts/antiques experience to assist the Gallery Manager to prepare for and run auctions, maintain the gallery space, update the on-line catalog, web page, and social media, and coordinate incoming objects. Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Research items and prepare catalog entries
  • Enter and update data in database
  • Use digital camera and photo-editing software to create catalog and advertising photos
  • Prepare text materials for advertising and press releases
  • Set up gallery for auction
  • Take bids, answer inquiries, and co-ordinate presentation of items for auction
  • Following auction, arrange and assist in pick-up or delivery of items, update inventory, and process post-auction bids
  • Keep gallery and storage neat, clean, and organized
  • Oversee and assist in delivery, moving, unpacking, and documenting items arriving at gallery
  • Communicate with consignors, customers, and consultants as needed

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • At least two years’ coursework or work experience in the arts or antiques fields or a related area
  • At least two years’ work experience in administration, customer service, or project management
  • Ability to identify and value a wide variety of objects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Paint, and use of digital camera
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Availability to work Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings for auctions approximately once per month
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
