18th C. Engraving "James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose", 1740, engraved by Jacobus Houbraken (1698-1780), published in 1740 by John & Paul Knapton (active 1735-1789), after an original William Dobson painting, depicts a portrait of the Duke as a younger man, facing left, his soldier background highlighted by plumed helmet and carved battle scene to tablet at center, framed and matted behind glass, not examined out of frame, wear to image consistent with age including very minor toning and foxing, slight waving of paper, ss: 14 1/2" h. x 9" w.
