Description:

HENRY LOOMIS, FRANKFORT, NY - 30-hour wooden movement shelf clock, ca. 1834. Henry Loomis (1799-1865) moved from Bristol, CT to Frankfort, Herkimer County, NY in 1832. He may have made his own cases, but certainly the movements came from Connecticut. This tall sized stenciled half column & splat clock is basically in "as found" condition. It is missing the mirror or reverse painted tablet in the lower door and has a crusty finish which disguises the mahogany veneer and stenciled columns and splat. The dial is original, but needs restoration to the flaked center and the numeral 3. It has a good, original label.
